About Amata Green
“AMATA” in Latin means “Beloved.” We, at Amata Green, are dedicated to helping our beloved earth return to its former self, by restoring degraded soil biodiversity and improving the water cycle. We also strive to provide solutions to use less water in agriculture, prevent soil erosion, prevent nutrient & chemical leaching into waterways, and solve soil salinity problems, resulting in both carbon drawdown and a healthier earth.
We at Amata Green, feel that our Earth is a beloved gift that is to be cherished and taken care of. We believe that it is our duty as the human caretakers of this Earth to make decisions in such a manner that we do not further damage the land and soils that we have, and that we restore what we have already damaged. We strive to move growers toward regenerative practices—for the sake of the earth, and the people who inhabit it.
Amata Green also places a very high priority on healthy food. To us, this means eating foods that don’t contain toxins such as pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, antibiotics, steroids, and much more. We place a high value in helping farmers and ranchers transition to organic, creating a healthier food supply to the growing population while also helping the farmers and ranchers prosper economically and in good conscience.
We deeply desire to see the farming industry succeed and even prosper, from small farms to large ones; and soil farmers to hydroponic, they are all important, each in their own way. We also recognize that sometimes drastic, big and immediate changes can be associated with high upfront costs to the growers and this is why we also advocate taking baby steps for some. As we see it, baby steps are better than no steps at all.
