Ali Asger, Amata Green Intern

Ali Asger is an undergraduate student at Institute of Chemical Technology, India. He will be graduating in 2023 with an Integrated M.Tech in Chemical Engineering and minor in Energy Tech. Having completed a recent summer fellowship at FOSSEE, involving an open-source library contribution project for process modelling and simulation, Mr. Asger is inclined to explore the domain of Process Systems Engineering. Particularly, Ali is intrigued by complex processes and aspires to work on hybrid (heuristic and rigorous) modelling for sustainable process development and operations optimization.

Mr. Asger has previously worked on projects associated with anaerobic digestion and hydroponics where he developed an understanding of the sustainable agricultural practices and importance of innovative technologies and processes for the environment. As an intern at Amata Green, this semester, Mr. Asger will be acting as a Team Lead and will be working with Amata Green’s Engineering team on various engineering requirements of the project.

Adam O’Keeffe, Amata Green Intern

Adam O’Keeffe is a recent Master’s graduate in Biological Engineering from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. Throughout his Master’s program, Mr. O’Keeffe studied the effects of biochar amendment in local soils when applied in a targeted manner. He modeled how the biochar amendment changed water retention and redistribution in eroded soils and evaluated the potential for biochar to be integrated into precision agriculture techniques throughout the region.

Mr. O’Keeffe has a background in engineering and energy efficiency (3 years of energy efficiency consulting) and has developed a passion for sustainability, agricultural practices, and water resources. Mr. O’Keeffe desires to advance himself in the field of agriculture, sustainability, and data analytics. With Amata Green, this semester, Mr. O’Keeffe will be acting as an Engineering intern and will provide information on relevant engineering constraints or expectations.
